Seaside Goldenrod

Seaside Goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens) is a native perennial belonging to the Aster family, whose curved, small yellow flowers are loved by pollinators and florists.

The smooth stems and leaves grow to a 4 foot height.

It blooms in our marshes and dunes from August to October, and is often found near ragweed (which is the cause of hay fever, not the Goldenrod).

Native Americans used the leaves to cure sore throats and toothaches.

The Seaside Goldenrod is a beautiful native that lets its color guide us into fall, while nourishing migrating species.
